Daily Letter Challenge Day 2. Dear Kids at Disneyland.

A Letter to the Kids of Disneyland

Dear Kids at Disneyland,

     This evening you showed me a different side of you, a good side. Normally you kids are a gigantic mess, crying and screaming. I go to Disneyland to remind myself to never have kids, or to at least wait for a good while. You kick me and push me while I am in the attraction lines, and you even think it is okay to grope me. My boyfriend gives you dirty looks for me and even stands behind me to endure your rambunctiousness for me so that I don't turn around and throw your sticky drippy ice cream to the ground. Today though! Oh today...I ran into three of you that were pretty darn awesome. First I was in line for Star Tours and in front of me was one very dapper blonde boy, around the age of seven. He was very well behaved as well! A pair of navy blue youth cordones on his feet, a very fit pair of distressed dark blue denim skinny jeans, and an awesome olive green military style hoodie on his top half. Even this kids streaked beach blonde hair was perfectly coiffed in a shorter Owen Wright fashion. Let's not forgot his awesome Lego watch he had assembled at the Lego Store in Downtown Disney, fashionable and timely! He is going to be a ladykiller for sure. Next up was a trip to the bathroom for me to wash my hands before dinner, and a pleasant encounter with a small girl around the age of three. She walked up to the sink next to the one I was using and proceeded to call for her guardian (I assume). After a good ten seconds of her saying this mystery woman's name repeatedly and saying she couldn't reach the faucet to turn on the water, I gladly reached over and hit the button on her faucet. She looked up at me in surprise and put her little hands under the water and said "Thank you so much! That was very kind of you." After picking my jaw up off of the gross bathroom floor, I said "No problem at all, and thank you!", so polite this little being was that I just walked out of the bathroom in shock and awe. Finally after another ride on Star Wars we were ready for dessert, ice cream! A scoop of chocolate for me and a scoop of strawberry for the boy. While we were walking to the ice cream stand I saw from a itty bit of a distance a family talking to a Disneyland employee, they had a two year old in a stroller. On most occasions this is a bad thing, but as I quickly walked passed them I noticed that the young boy in the stroller was leaning forward as if to be listening to the employee's instructions with his hands folded on his lap. It was as if he had asked the question and was patiently waiting for the reply. A brief encounter, but definitely one that stuck with me as a pleasant kid interaction at Disneyland. 

     All in all a good evening at The Happiest Place on Earth random kids included, just don't get me started on the hellions who tried to hitch a piggyback ride on a female duck who was eating some bread we had thrown her while we ate dinner....those kids needed a good spankin...er talking to.

It's a new day. Freedom! And Day 1 of my self-imposed letter writing challenge. I will be horribly rusty at this and will not be re-reading and/or editing.

A Love Story to My Stuffed Giraffe

Dear McCartney (my stuffed giraffe),
         You are really the best stuffed animal I have ever had, and not just because my boyfriend Nick
gifted you to me. You are the perfect amount of of limbs, belly, ossicones, tail, noggin, and stuffing all wrapped up in the furriest polyester I have ever felt. I take you with me on every holiday/trip/sleepover, (with the exception of Coachella, because I was in a rush to pack and forgot you, for which I am deeply sorry), you are a piece of home for me. My favorite part about you is the fact that you allow me to sleep on my stomach and still maintain breath, ever since you came into my life I have slept apnea free! Curled in the crook of my arm, you keep away all of the mean monsters that appear in my waking and dreaming life while I am in bed. Guardian angel, your ossicones hold an invisible halo above your duck-billed head, I am just sure of it. Always with a knowing look on your face, you assure me that everything will be okay, even when I know I have to wake up before noon and have terrible insomnia the night before. Just look at your picture up there! I know you're sitting at your little giraffe laptop, drinking your little giraffe latte, reading this and thinking "Man! I am all that and a bag of foliage!", and yes McCartney you really are.
